Home Care

Your loved one gets personalized care to help with routine daily activities like grooming, meal preparation, grocery shopping or errands, bathing, exercise, and transportation. Caregivers also offer companionship and emotional support, which supports research on healthy aging. Professional home care is provided on an hourly rate. On CareLinx, each caregiver sets their own pay rate, which typically ranges between $12-25/hour depending on qualification and care needs. At home care provides the most flexibility for families.

Typically residents live in apartment style units with access to communal spaces, like a dining hall and recreation rooms. Older adults can get help with routine daily tasks like eating, bathing, toileting, walking, and housekeeping. The costs can range from anywhere between $3,000 to $15,000 a month, depending on location and type of services needed.

Nursing Homes

Nursing homes provide the highest level of supervision for frail or sick adults, or adults with who need memory care for dementia related illnesses. Residents receive personal care, room and board, rehabilitation therapy, and healthcare management. On-site medical care is provided around the clock by nurses and physicians on staff. This care option is usually the most costly. On average, families in the U.S. spend $7,600 per month for nursing homes, and these costs are expected to rise the fastest in the next five years.

  • Need constant supervision and/or attention

  • Have a serious or worsening health condition
